Why ride your bike indoors?
Because you are an avid cyclist who lives in New England! Not only can the roads be less welcoming in the winter, but you lose your evening ride time due to darkness.
Why trainer classes instead of spin classes?
The position of any spin bike is less than optimal and no amount of adjusting will get it just right for you. Because of this you won’t be able to transfer the power you develop on a spin bike to your road bike. Spin classes are a good supplement to your training but you need to do as much riding as possible on your road bike.
Are there any other benefits of trainer classes over spin classes?
Sure, there are many exercises we can do on our trainers that simply cannot be done as well on a spin bike, such as one legged pedaling, power starts and certain sprint drills.
Isn’t it inconvenient to have to bring my bike to class?
No, you’ve done it before to get to races and great rides, and your investment will be well worth it in the spring when your fitness level is better. You also won’t have to go through that adjustment period of riding the narrower saddle, the drop bars, and the aerobars, because you will have been riding them all winter.
What does it cost to take classes?
Classes range from $12 to $20, depending on your status and registration choices.
